Happy Monday Yuma! It’s homecoming week. With that being said, there are so many fun activities, games, and events that you’re going to want to have written down on your calendar. Take a minute and get a glimpse of what’s going to be happening this week.
Bond Presentation – October 1st
The chamber will be hosting a presentation by the Yuma School District-1 going over the upcoming bond vote. This bond will allow the Yuma School District to provide much needed solutions to their current facilities. Stop by the community center on October 1st from 12 to 1 to learn more about the various ways that this bond will benefit our schools, our community, and a couple of buildings that are dear to the history of Yuma.
Special Education Training Event – September 23rd
Learn more about your child’s rights in regards to their education. Attendees will learn about their child’s education rights and how to use self-advocacy tools. Presenters for this event are Jennifer Levin and Emily Harvey from Disability Law Colorado. Lunch will be provided. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Yuma City Community Center. Yuma Senior Center Spaghetti Supper – September 23rd from
From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. you can enjoy a spaghetti supper at the Yuma Senior Center. Servings will be $3.00 a person. Children ages 4 and under eat free. Address: 421 E. 2nd Ave.
Last week of the Land and Place Show at The Orphanage
This is the last week of the Land and Place art show at The Orphanage. This is a metal sculpture show by Maureen Hearty. The show’s final day will be September 30th, so make sure to stop by and see this incredible piece of art.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold at the Yuma Theater
This week, Dora and the Lost City of Gold is showing at the Yuma Theater. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $5.00 for children (0-11), $7.00 for adults (12-64), and $6.00 for seniors (65+).
