Child Care Provider Pre-Licensing by the Early Childhood Council
Providing care for children in Yuma county is a need that a majority of us recognize. If this is something that you’ve always wanted to do, you’re in luck! The Early Childhood Council has organized a class that will be happening this week. On September 19th & 20th at the Quintech building, you can get the base information that you need to start your career as a child care provider. Hiring Fair by the Yuma Workforce Center
September is Workforce Development Month and the Yuma Workforce Center is hosting a variety of events designed to help Colorado businesses and workers. The hiring fair will be taking place September 18th from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and September 19th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Yuma Workforce Center (529 N. Albany, Suite 1210). As of right now, the current employers that will be attending the job fair include Pro-Health, Smithfield Foods, Yuma County, and Yuma School District. Yuma FFA Blue & Gold 5K by Yuma Highschool’s FFA
The Blue and Gold 5K Run will involve multiple color stations throughout the race. Colors will be dispersed on participants as they run through each station. The 5k race will begin at Old Threshers. SIgn up for the 5k run or the shorter 2 mile walk. Registration is $20.00 and will include a t-shirt and a sloppy-joe meal after the race. Paper Crafting Classes at Wildlee
Wildlee has been known for more than just their adorable clothes. There’s no doubt about it: these ladies have a crafty side! Alongside the various crafting classes that they’ve organized, they will now be hosting Stampin’ Up classes led by One Stampin Mother Trucker. The first stamp and card making class will take place September 21st at 10 a.m. This class will walk you through the process of making three cards as well as a bonus item with the new Harvest Hello bundle. The class fee is $20. For questions or to reserve your spot, contact 970-597-0400.
Additional classes have been scheduled for October 18th and November 23rd, so make sure to keep an eye out for those classes as well.
Farmer’s Market at Farm House Market
Yuma County is known for having some of the very best produce around. Aside from that, there are various artisan products that, if you haven’t already, you MUST try. There’s no better place to find these products than at the Farmer’s Market. From baked goods to locally made honey, the Farmer’s Market has everything that you need to get a taste (no pun intended) of Yuma County. Stop by Farm House Market from 1-3 this upcoming Saturday.
