CHAMBER HAPPENINGS

Keep up with everything fun that’s happening in Yuma
Hello Yuma! I apologize for the October newsletter coming out later this month than usual. I have been busy and running around, which, while it’s kept me away from the computer, means that I’ve been fortunate to get around to finally meeting a good majority of the businesses in town. I can’t wait to meet the rest of them (and many of you) in the weeks to come. For now, here’s a glance at what the rest of October has to offer as well as a break down of what the Yuma Chamber of Commerce will be doing for Trick R’ Treat Street this year! — Sammy

FEATURED BUSINESS FRIDAY

Every Friday, the Chamber features a business. Take a second and check out our blog for the businesses featured in the month of August.

UPCOMING EVENTS

TRICK R' TREAT STREET 2019

This year, the Chamber is going to extend the hours of Trick R’ Treat Street so that kids and adults alike are able to have hours of fun! Trick R’ Treat Street will be happening from Thursday, October 31st from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Main street. The exception to this is Wags and Whiskers who will be hosting a pet costume contest! Bring your furry friends by their store from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for goodies and door prizes. Costume judging will start at 12 p.m.
_____
The first two hours (4:00 p.m. to 6 p.m.) are going to be strictly dedicated to kids with businesses handing out goodies, kid-friendly games on the street, and a costume contest hosted by City Hall. At this point in the event, there will also be a chili cook off hosted by Hoch Real Estate and a live band.
_____
From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. we will have the 2nd Ave. to 1st Ave. block closed off. The band will continue playing with plenty of room to dance, corn hole boards, and a costume contest and karaoke event hosted by Tumbleweed Brewing.
_____
** If you are interested in participating in the chili cook off, contact Bernice Pagel at bpagel@hochrealestate.com for more information**
_____
In an attempt to make buying candy easier for businesses, I have organized a list of candy that I can order and drop off for you. If you would like more information about this, contact me at director@yumacochamber.com or by phone at 970-848-2704.
_____
If you plan to participate in Trick R’ Treat Street and I have not yet talked to you or stopped by your business, send me an email so that I can include you in the list of participating businesses. These will be printed out and handed out as families come in.
