This month, the Yuma Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that Farm House Market has been selected as our Member of the Month. This business is one that we’ve all stopped to visit at least once. For some of us, visits happen multiple times a week and for us coffee addicts, visits occur multiple times in one day. Keep reading to learn a little bit more about this incredible coffee shop nestled in the heart of our community.

Farm House Market opened its doors on April 30th of 2011. It had initially started as a college project when Meghann Blach was a student at Colorado State University. While in college, Jeremy Blach had swept her off her feet and informed her that he would be moving back to his family farming and ranching operation. At this point, she decided that she would like to turn her college project into a reality as they started their lives together in Yuma. This year, Farm House Market will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary in April.

This every changing coffee shop and market strives to meet the coffee, dairy, meat, gift, and convenience needs of our community. Megan, the owner of Farm House Market puts it best: “We try to be a one stop shop while also giving back to our community as much as we can.”

That being said, it’s not only coffee that you can stop into Farm House Market for. When you stop in, you might come for a gourmet coffee, but there are countless things that you will likely leave with. A few of the most notable items in Farm House Market include the selection of delicious meats, the wide variety of milks, the locally made sugar, and the various fresh baked goods that pair perfectly with your beverage. On top of that, you can find dozens of gifts that are great for any occasion, Colorado Proud dairy items, and the best ice cream in town!

One of the best parts of Farm House Market is the feeling that you get when you step through the doors. It’s like walking into your family home; warm and welcoming. It’s absolutely a combination of the fresh baked goods and the friendly staff, but it’s also in part due to the environment itself.

“Family has always been very important to Jeremy and I, so when you stop in you might recognize a few people in the pictures throughout the store front. Also, most of the decor and fixtures come with a story from one of our family members and their childhood memories.

Next time you stop in, make sure to check out some of the pieces around Farm House Market! It will only add to your experience.

Currently, the Farm House Market team consists of store manager Faith Alt and 11 awesome employees. Meghann fills the roles of wife to Jeremy, mom to Adley, Kashton, and Kaizley, and business owner. When I asked her what her favorite part of being a business owner was, she said:

I like being involved with my employees and customers. The personal relationships I have created over the years with employees and seeing them grow from high school kids, to college students and beyond has been rewarding. I also have enjoyed getting to know a wide variety of members of our community. I have heard some amazing stories from customers about life and enjoyed priceless conversations over a coffee or ice cream cone. I also like having the ability to bring unique one of a kind products to our community for all to enjoy.”

To the team at Farm House Market, thank you for all that you do. Yuma would not be the same without the dream that began as a project, nearly ten years ago. Meghann, we appreciate all that you have done for the community. Your efforts and contributions to the community do not go unnoticed.

As mentioned above, the 10 year anniversary of Farm House Market will take place next month, so keep an eye out for celebration announcements. Check out the various ways that you can follow Farm House Market below.
